Drafting a Record of Advice and needs analysis
Starting a draft, what happens while it runs, and what arrives.
Starting a draft
On a reviewed intake choose Draft RoA and FNA. The job is queued and picked up by the worker; a draft normally takes about six minutes. Telegram intake starts this step automatically.
What happens
- The facts are assembled into a box: the extracted schema, the calculated totals, the tax position, the product panel and, for an existing client, the register (holdings, policies, previous advice and household members).
- Identity is removed from the box and scrubbed from every free-text field. Names become "the client" and "the spouse".
- The drafting model writes both documents to a fixed structure: the Record of Advice in the ten sections of FAIS section 9, and the needs analysis by need, with placeholders where names belong and an [ADVISER TO REVIEW] flag on every figure or assumption a person must confirm.
- Placeholders are filled in on the practice server. The documents are rendered to Word.
- Both files are emailed to the advisor's registered address with the subject
[Tallify AD-…], an item appears in Advice approvals, and the intake row's button changes to Review RoA + FNA.
What the intake row shows
| Button | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft RoA + FNA | No draft yet, or the last one failed. Starts a draft. |
| Drafting… | A draft is queued or running. About six minutes. |
| Review RoA + FNA | A draft is waiting. Opens it in the console editor. |
| Filed, then Draft RoA + FNA | The last draft was filed on the registers. A new draft would become the next version. |
Length
Drafts are held to a word budget per section. A draft that runs over is condensed once, on a smaller model, before it is delivered. Words, passes and model cost are recorded against the draft.
Existing clients
For a client already on the register the draft is a review Record of Advice: it refers to the current advice on file, the holdings and policies, and what has changed.
