The approvals queue
Everything in Tallify that waits for a person: advice to sign and file, drafted client messages and the practice's templated emails, and what each action does.
The Approvals view has three tabs. Advice holds Records of Advice and needs analyses to sign and file. Messages holds every message drafted for a client. Review emails holds the practice's templated emails to clients (fact-find packs, review sheets, the copy of a signed disclosure letter, receipts for returned documents, welcome emails, requests to sign advice, the client's picture), each with an Edit wording button, so the practice is happy with every word before it goes.
Two kinds of email do not wait: the client's one-time code for signing the Record of Advice and needs analysis, and an email a person writes and sends themselves from the client's card. A practice may also list kinds of notice, such as birthday messages, to be sent without approval, or ask for its templated emails to go at once; neither is set by default. See Settings reference.

Messages and Review emails each have Approve all; Messages also has the Market update button (see Market updates). Approve & send cannot be pressed twice.
On a review email the personal link (to the onboarding page, the online review or the signing page) is created when you approve, so it works for its full term from then, and a review is pre-filled from the record as it stands when the email goes. If you edit the wording, keep the line that marks where the link stands; if it is removed, the link goes on a line of its own before the sign-off.
Approve and send
Email goes from the adviser's own connected mailbox, or from the practice's mailbox in the adviser's name with replies coming back to the adviser, and carries the practice's email signature. The exact text sent, who approved it and when are kept in the Comms log.
Consent is checked when an item is drafted and again when you approve it. If the client's consent flag is off by then, the item is not sent: it stays with the reason, and you can reject it. A reply to the client's own email does not need the flag.
Scope
A scoped user sees only items for their own clients. Administrators see everything.
Done
Items can be marked done once dealt with, on the client's Communication tab or the thread page; they stay in the Comms log.
